[origin: WO2011012478A1] The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising a dust separation unit (20) having at least one locking unit (40) for detachably fixing the dust separation unit (20) to the vacuum cleaner, an operating element (21) for operating the locking unit (40), and at least one transfer element (30) for transmitting a movement of the operating element (21) to the locking element (40), wherein the operating element (21) is embodied as a handle for removing the dust separation unit (20). The present invention enables a vacuum cleaner to be provided using structurally simple and cost-effective means, the dust separation unit (20) of which remains securely fixed to the vacuum cleaner during the operation of said vacuum cleaner and may be removed from the vacuum cleaner by a simple operation. In particular, the activation element may be used for releasing the attachment to the vacuum cleaner as well as a handle for transporting the dust separation unit (20), thus allowing easy handling. Moreover, the dust separation unit (20) may be used in the vacuum cleaner independently of the position of the handle, thus preventing faulty operation.
