Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011012105A1] The invention relates to a covering comprising panels that can be connected to each other mechanically, having the following features: a) adjacent first and second panels (1, 2) each having a groove (12, 17) on the sides (6, 10) thereof that are complementary to each other, b) a spring (16) that can be moved relative to the panel (1) is disposed in one of the grooves (12), said spring being suitable for engaging in the groove (17) of the adjacent panel (2) when the adjacent panels (1, 2) are connected, c) the panel (1) that retains the spring (16) has a locking strip (3) that reaches under the adjacent panel (2), said locking strip being suitable for securing adjacent panels (1, 2) against tensile loads in a laying plane, d) the panel (2) under which the locking strip (3) reaches is supported both on the locking strip (3) and on a support strip (11), which is arranged at a greater distance from the locking strip (3) than the groove (12), and e) the support strip (11) engages in the same groove (17) into which the spring (16) can be moved.
