[origin: EP2147884A1] The device has a drive unit comprising a drive element that consists of drive motors (14) and a drive shaft (11). A gear reduction unit i.e. traction unit drive, has bearing units (4) for bearing of an output shaft (3), where the bearing units are arranged on both sides of output elements i.e. traction sheaves (20). A supporting device i.e. screw (30) is provided for supporting of the drive shaft and/or output shafts between two bearing devices i.e. support bearing (12) of the drive unit and/or between the two bearing units of the gear reduction unit, during mounting and demounting phase. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting or demounting or maintaining a lifting device.
