[origin: EP2460757A1] The device (1) has an electrical control device (24) controlling an operation of an electrically actuated vacuum generator device (14). Warning units (35, 37, 38, 42, 43, 44, 45) have a vacuum detector (36) attached at a gripper-side suction line section (12b) of a suction line (12). The vacuum detector is coupled with the electrical control device such that a warning signal i.e. electric signal, is generated when the electrical control device is switched off and vacuum lying above vacuum threshold value is present in the gripper-side suction line section.
