Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011015745A1] The invention relates to a lapping tool, including an abrasive stone (1), at least one pusher (2) that is radially moveable so to radially move the abrasive stone (1) toward the outside, and a dagger (3), the movement of which in the axial direction of the lapping tool (X) causes the radial movement of pusher (2), the transformation of the axial movement of the dagger (3) into the radial movement of the pusher (2) resulting from the complementary conical shapes of the surfaces contacting the dagger (4, 5) and the pusher (2A, 2B). The pushing surface (2P) of pusher (2), which contacts the abrasive stone (1), forms a very small angle (“alpha”) with the axial direction (X) of the lapping tool and the angle (“alpha”) is such that the pushing surface (2P) of the pusher (2) has a slope of around 4% relative to the axial direction (X) of the lapping tool. The invention can be used for lapping tools having abrasive stone cylinders and in the field of lapping engine crankcases for vehicles.
