[origin: WO2011015295A2] The invention relates to a security paper for producing security and value documents having a watermark (30) depicting a motif, and comprising two watermark regions (14, 24) arranged spaced apart on the security paper, wherein the watermark motif (28) is composed of two complemental motif halves (16, 26) forming comprehensive data, wherein each of the two watermark regions (14, 24) constitutes only a motif half (16, 26) of the motif (28) of the watermark (30). Along a folding line (20) located between the two watermark regions (14, 24), the security paper can be folded so that in a folded state, the two watermark regions (14, 24) are superimposed, and under transmitted light, the motif (28) comprised of the two motif halves (16, 26) of the watermark (30) can be detected.
