The method involves heating of a heating circuit medium circulating in a heating circuit (1) temporarily with a burner (2), and determining the circulation of the heating circuit medium with a unit (3) for detecting the volume flow. The burner is turned on and off by a controller (4). Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Heizungsanlage, wobei ein in einem Heizkreis (1) zirkulierendes Heizkreismedium mindestens zeitweise mit einem Brenner (2) erwärmt wird, wobei die Zirkulation des Heizkreismediums mit einem Mittel zur Erfassung des Volumenstroms (3) bestimmt und der Brenner (2) über eine Regelung (4) ein- und ausgeschaltet wird. Nach der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass das Ein- und Ausschalten des Brenners (2) unterhalb eines vordefinierten Mindestvolumenstroms des Heizkreismediums im Heizkreis (1) in Abhängigkeit von einem mit dem Mittel zur Erfassung des Volumenstroms (3) ermittelten Volumenstrom mit der Regelung (4) festgelegt wird.
