[origin: EP2463831A2] The method involves using a cash box (12) in a docking station (14) e.g. automatic teller machine, for receiving a cash box. A request is output by a display unit (32) to input expressions of a process parameter of processes running through the cash box by an input unit (34). An operating parameter of the cash box is set depending on an input expression of the process parameter after entering the expressions using the input unit of the docking station. The set operating parameter is stored in a storage element (18) of the cash box. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cash box.
