Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011034301A2] The invention relates to a reel apparatus for a gaming machine, comprising: a plurality of display panels fixed at predetermined positions; a plurality of reels, each of which is arranged to cover the front surfaces of the plurality of display panels, respectively, and each of which has reel strips independently rotatable about a single shaft; a plurality of driving motors for driving the respective reels; and a controller for controlling image display operations of the display panels on the basis of the signal indicating the rotating speed of a reel cover such that images on the display panels rotate in correspondence to the rotating speeds of the reel strips. The reel apparatus of the present invention is configured such that each reel has a single fixed display panel, as opposed to conventional reel apparatuses which involve arranging a plurality of display panels for each reel, and the image on the display panel rotates at a speed identical to the rotating speed of the relevant reel, thereby eliminating the necessity of arranging a plurality of display panels for each reel and thus reducing manufacturing costs.
