[origin: EP2465641A2] The device (1) has a spring device (10) provided as an intermediate storage to store energy derived from an electric drive (25), where the energy is abruptly delivered during stress action. The spring device cooperates with an intermediate storage energy adjusting device. The intermediate storage energy adjusting device is connected with the electric drive and/or inserted into the spring device by fastening elements i.e. bolts (3), or small energy. The intermediate storage energy adjusting device is connected with a manually actuated switching device (35). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating an electrically operated bolt setting device (2) a gas-operated bolt setting device comprising a combustion chamber (3) a pressurized air-operated bolt setting device comprising a storage chamber.
