Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011061022A1] The invention relates to a motor-, in particular electromotor-driven angle grinder (4), having a motor housing (18) receiving the motorized components and a transmission housing (14) receiving a transmission component, having a motor shaft (26) and a tool spindle (36) which are oriented toward each other at an angle via an angular gear assembly (22) having a crown gear (34), wherein a rotatably driven grinding or separating tool (16) can be mounted on the tool spindle (36); according to the invention, the crown gear (34) is designed having a hat shape and arranged so that a recess (54) forming the hat shape is oriented toward the side of the crown gear (34) facing the tool and a toothing (60) of the crown gear (34) is arranged on the side of the crown gear (34) facing away from the tool, radially outside a rise (56) of the crown gear (34) delimiting the recess (54) and the recess (54) is sized such that the tool spindle (36) and a bearing device (62) bearing the tool spindle (36) opposite a flange (44) of the transmission housing (14) extends into the recess (54) in the axial direction.
