[origin: WO2011020801A1] The invention relates to a refrigeration apparatus (1), particularly a domestic refrigeration apparatus, comprising a coolable interior and a defrost water channel (5) through which defrost water (13) can be conducted out of the interior of the refrigeration apparatus (1) into an evaporation tray (8) lying outside the interior, a siphon (6) being arranged in the defrost water channel (5) or at the transition from the defrost water channel (5) to the evaporation tray (8). The floor (20) of the siphon (6) is disposed above the water level (15) in the evaporation tray (8) at the maximum filled state thereof so that the water in the siphon (6) is not heated and cannot evaporate too quickly.
