Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2468633A1] The machine (1') has a sealing station for sealing a tray with a cover film. The sealing station includes a sealing tool upper part and a tray retainer, which includes an edge support for retaining a tray edge. The edge support includes two edge support sections (6a, 6b) movable relative to each other. A continuous transport unit e.g. transport belt, is permanently attached within the sealing station and below the tool upper part. A drive is provided for a closing relative movement of the edge support sections and for lifting the tray by the tray retainer. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a tray closing machine.
