[origin: EP2468638A1] The machine (1) has evacuable chambers (4,5) that are provided for receiving opening portions (2a,2b) of package (2). The pressure measuring devices (11,12) are provided for measuring pressure in evacuable chambers. A control valve (13) is provided for supplying air into evacuable chamber (4), and for controlling pressure difference between evacuable chambers. A gap (7) is formed in a partition (6) which is provided between the evacuable chambers. An adjuster (17) is provided for varying and adjusting cross-sectional area of gap. An independent claim is included for method for generating vacuum package.
