[origin: WO2011024034A1] The invention relates to a shaped article (1) for absorbing, reflecting and attenuating airborne sound waves, the article comprising two groups of plate elements (30, 31) that intersect each other and are connected to each other at the intersecting points (81) by connecting slots. The shape of the shaped article and the position and deflection of the plate elements (30, 31) are the result of the predetermined contour of the plate elements and of the position and direction of connecting slots. The plate elements (30, 31) of each group are characterized by different widening or narrowing angles (33) in relation to each other, inclinations arranged in a preferred direction, varying distances to each other, different curvatures and/or different edge contours. The shaped articles comprise a plurality of cells (27) having different geometries, the different geometries of the cells, the size of the cells and the quantity, the distance, the inclination, and the depth of the plate elements of each plate group resulting in both a distance between the plate elements and a distance-to-depth ratio such that certain frequency ranges are absorbed, reflected and/or attenuated.
