The toothbrush (10) has a brush head (11), which is made of a plastic. A completely closed recess (12) is formed in the brush head in a circumferential direction. A carrier body (13), which is made of another plastic that is more deformable than the former plastic is arranged in the recess. A set of bristles in the form of bundled bristles (18) or individual bristles is arranged on the carrier body. The former plastic is a semi-crystalline or amorphous thermoplastic plastic or polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate and the latter plastic is a thermoplastic elastomer.

Eine Zahnbürste weist einen aus einem 1. Kunststoff bestehenden Bürstenkopf auf, in dem zumindest eine in Umfangsrichtung vollständig geschlossene Ausnehmung ausgebildet ist. In der Ausnehmung ist ein Trägerkörper aus einem gegenüber dem 1. Kunststoff verformungsweicheren 2. Kunststoff angeordnet. Zumindest auf dem Trägerkörper ist ein Borstenbesatz in Form von Borstenbündeln und/oder Einzelborsten vorgesehen. Dabei ist der Trägerkörper in Verbindungsabschnitten nur auf einer Seite seines Außenumfangs mit der umgebenden Innenwandung der Ausnehmung verbunden, wobei die Verbindungsabschnitte nur einen Teil des Außenumfangs des Trägerkörpers umfassen.
