Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011026777A1] The invention relates to a counterweight (2) and an elevator system (10) having at least one counterweight (2). The counterweight (2) is constructed as a frameless counterweight and comprises a plurality of counterweight segments (2.1, 2.2), wherein the counterweight segments (2.1, 2.2) are disposed vertically in series one below the other in the installed state. A first top counterweight segment (2.1) thereby supports a second subsequent counterweight segment (2.2). A first connecting means (4.1) is provided on the bottom (3.1) of the first top counterweight segment (2.1) and a second connecting means (4.2) is provided on the top side (3.2) of the second subsequent counterweight segment (2.2), so that the second subsequent counterweight segment (2.2) can be mounted on the first top weight segment (2.1) by connecting the first and second connecting means (4.1, 4.2).
