Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010121612A2] The invention relates to a motor vehicle front light based on LED technology, designed so that said light provides not only sufficient lighting power for operating in a motor vehicle front light, but is also designed so that the required parameters for illuminating the street and the boundary areas of the light fields can be maintained. The front light should simultaneously be able to be used as both a low-beam and a high-beam light. Said aim is achieved by a motor vehicle light having light-emitting diodes (LEDs) wherein a plurality of LED luminous elements (1,2) are disposed in the motor vehicle light (5), each associated with a lens body (3,4), wherein at least one larger, centrally disposed LED chip (1) has at least two smaller side LED luminous elements (2) adjacent thereto, and a further main collector lens (6) is located at a distance ahead of the LED luminous elements (1,2) and the lens bodies thereof, wherein a displaceable dimming cover (7) is disposed between the lens bodies (3,4) and the main collector lens (6).
