[origin: WO2011030025A1] The invention relates to an injection plunger for die casting, characterized in that the plunger (10) comprises a plunger body (14) and a material injection head (16), at least part of the head (16) being made of a heat-refractive alloy, the heat expansion coefficient of which is less than 6*10-6K-1 and/or the heat conductivity coefficient of which is greater than 50 W/m.K. The invention also relates to a method for die casting a material using the injection plunger. The invention makes it possible to increase the lifespan of the casting equipment and reduce the production costs of cast parts.
