The stool has a supporting leg (3) with an upper end at which a seat (4) is attached. The seat comprises a seat plate and a pivot joint (10), which is arranged between the upper end of the supporting leg and the seat plate. The seat plate is formed in U-shape at a top view. The pivot joint horizontally tilts the seat plate in a seat direction and comprises an oscillating bearing i.e. ring, made of flexibly deformable material. The pivot joint comprises a locking mechanism for fixing the seat plate in a horizontal position. The seat plate is made of two seat sections.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Gebärstuhl. Der Gebährstuhl umfasst, ein Standbein (3), an dessen oberen Ende ein Sitz (4) befestigt ist und der Sitz (4) eine Sitzplatte (23) und ein Schwenkgelenk (10) aufweist, wobei das Schwenkgelenk (10) zwischen dem oberen Ende des Standbeins (3) und der Sitzplatte (23) angeordnet ist, und die Sitzplatte (23) in der Draufsicht etwa U-förmig ausgebildet ist.
