Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2477605A] The road sweeping vehicle comprises a wheeled chassis which supports a debris suction mechanism that generates an air flow for entraining debris between an inlet suction port 122 located between front and rear wheels 104,106 and an outlet exhaust port 140, with a collection chamber 132 between the inlet and outlet ports collecting the entrained debris, A selectively operable blow mechanism comprises an intake port located downstream of the collection chamber on the flow path and a blow nozzle 144 mounted forwardly of the front wheels. The intake port of the blow mechanism preferably comprises an aperture in the housing 116 of a fan which generates the air flow of the suction mechanism, with a selectively operable valve preferably acting to stop or allow air flow from the aperture and through a conduit 146 to the blow nozzle. A selectively pivotable baffle may be located between the fan housing and the outlet port.
