[origin: WO2011032775A1] The invention relates to an actuator (1) for switching a switching unit, said actuator comprising a mechanical display, wherein the mechanical display comprises a plurality of windows (10) and a plurality of display surfaces (8) identifiable through said windows (10). The invention further relates to an electromechanic control device having a switching unit that can be switched by such an actuator (1). The invention is characterized in that the display surfaces (8) are connected by means of a spring bar (9) attached to the actuating head (2) of the actuator (1) and together with the spring bar (9) partially move in a rotational manner about a rotating axis during an actuating movement of the actuating head (2). The rotational axis is substantially perpendicular to the actuating movement of the actuating head (2) and the display surfaces (8) are visible through the annular windows (10) in the actuating head (2).
