[origin: EP2479133A2] Load indicating lifting apparatus (10) especially manually operated chain-block lifting apparatus (10) and lever hoist apparatus. The apparatus comprising gearing apparatus (15), a manually actuated input connected to the gearing apparatus (15), a load bearing attachment connected to the gearing means, and a load gauge. The load gauge may be adapted to provide an indication of the load borne by the apparatus in use. The load gauge may provide an indication of load borne, by electronic, mechanical and/or sonic means.
