Electric cable comprises at least one insulated cable (12) comprising at least one electrical conductor, and an insulation layer (13) enclosing the wire line, where at least one layer containing deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), is applied on at least one point of at least one insulated cables and/or at least one insulating layers, which are associated with certain data including production data or cable properties, for determining the DNA by DNA analysis, to decode the data. An independent claim is also included for producing the electric cable, comprising applying at least one layer containing deoxyribonucleic acid, on at least one insulated cables and/or at least one insulating layers, immediately before extruding the layer, and covering the insulation layer.

Ein Elektrokabel (10) weist eine Aderleitung (12) und eine diese umschliessende Isolationsschicht (13, 14, 15) auf. Bei der Aderleitung (12) und bei der einen oder mehreren Isolationsschichten (13, 14, 15) ist zumindest an einer Stelle eine Schicht (12', 13', 14', 15') aufgebracht, welche DNA (Desoxyribonukleinsäure) enthält, denen bestimmte Daten, wie zum Beispiel Produktionsdaten oder Kabeleigenschaften, zugeordnet sind, und sich die DNA durch eine DNA-Analyse bestimmen lassen, um diese Daten entschlüsseln zu können. Damit lassen sich auch nach einer langen Gebrauchszeit eines Kabels dessen Daten auf sehr sichere Weise feststellen.
