Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2481492A2] The tool (4) has a workpiece support part (32) arranged in an end section (28) of a base body (26) on a side of a tool plane (30) and displaceable relative to the body. The end section forms a bending region (29). Another workpiece support part (33) is arranged on another side of the plane and fixed relative to the body. An end region (38) of the former support part facing towards the bending region is subjected with support force or automatically resettably designed against bending force acting on a workpiece (2) to be formed, where the support force acts against the bending force. An independent claim is also included for a method for free-form bending of workpieces to be manufactured from sheet.
