The system has cooling circuits (1, 10) e.g. high temperature cooling circuits, including cooling medium pumps (2, 12) for circulating a cooling medium into the cooling circuits. Heat exchangers (3, 13) are provided as a liquid-air-cooler, which is flown against by the cooling medium and cooling air. A drive motor (4) is cooled by the cooling medium. A vaporizable substance e.g. water, of the cooling air flowing into the heat exchanger is supplied before or in a region of the heat exchanger in a flow direction during a phase of high cooling requirement and a reduced cooling power capacity.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kühlanlage für ein Schienenfahrzeug - mit wenigstens einem Kühlkreislauf (1,10), umfassend eine Kühlmediumpumpe (2,12), die ein Kühlmedium in dem Kühlkreislauf umwälzt; - mit wenigstens einem Wärmetauscher (3,13) als Kühler, der von dem Kühlmedium und von Kühlluft angeströmt ist; - mit einem mittels des Kühlmediums gekühlten Antriebsmotors (4) und/oder sonstigen wärmeerzeugenden Aggregat. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass in Strömungsrichtung vor oder im Bereich des Wärmetauschers ein verdampfungsfähiger oder verdunstungsfähiger Stoff der in den Wärmetauscher strömenden Kühlluft während Phasen hohen Kühlbedarfs zugeführt wird.
