Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2482613A1] The method involves detecting a heating zone (Z1) comprising a subset of inductors (I9, I10, I18) partially covered by a container (R), where the inductors are two-dimensionally distributed in a cooking plane (3) of a cooking surface of an induction cooktop (1). A position of the container relative to the subset of partially covered inductors is determined. An inadequate position of the container is warned or the inductors corresponding to the adequate position of the container are switched-on, based on the determined position. An independent claim is also included for an induction cooktop.
