[origin: WO2011038975A1] The invention relates to a high pressure discharge lamp having a starting aid and having a ceramic discharge vessel (2) that is housed in an outer bulb (3), wherein the discharge vessel has two ends having capillaries (10) wherein electrodes are fastened and wherein a frame having hanger wire (6) holds the discharge vessel in the outer bulb. The hanger wire has a plate-like part (11) toward the capillary of the opposite-pole electrode which acts as a starting aid and has means (70) for the purely mechanical fastening at least to the capillary.
