Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2484451A2] The centrifuge (1) has an annular shell chamber (17) axially arranged above a drum cover (6). Connecting openings (19) are provided in the drum cover, and form a fluid channel for fluid or residual fluid (27) from solid cakes (3) to the shell chamber. The solid cakes are isolated at an inner side of a centrifuge drum (5). A residual fluid shell pipe (21) is arranged in the shell chamber. The pipe is designed such that the pipe is activated during a drying operation so that the fluid or the residual fluid from the chamber is drained in a drying operation by the pipe. An independent claim is also included for a method for separating solid-liquid-mixtures in a clear centrifugate and solid cakes by a solid bowl centrifuge.
