[origin: WO2011042846A1] The present invention refers to a process, and to the relevant plant, for removing methane from landfill biogas streams and/or bioaerosols through at least one biofiltering unit (1) equipped with a double covering (3, 30) comprising, in its turn, a permeable sheet (30), equipped with a suitable supporting system (33), and a cover (3), said double covering (3, 30) allowing to achieve the optimum humidity and temperature conditions for the biological process as well as to minimise, and even to nullify, the release of the methane contained in the biogas into the surrounding environment.
