[origin: WO2011042456A1] The invention relates to a program-controlled laundry treatment machine, having a rotatable drum, which is arranged in the washing tub, for accommodating laundry which is to be treated, having a washing liquor discharge system which is arranged at the bottom of the washing tub and has a washing liquor pump and a pressure sensor for determining the pressure of a liquid which is located in the washing tub, and having a control device which is programmed such that the laundry treatment machine can carry out the following process: (i) measure and record the pressure signal; (ii) smooth the pressure signal in order to obtain a smoothed pressure curve; (iii) determine a pressure gradient at a measurement interval of defined length from the pressure curve obtained; and (iv) carry out a measure, which is dependent on the pressure gradient and is matched to the pressure gradient, for treating foam, wherein the method is intended to be carried out during a program step which serves to remove water from the washing tub and is characterized in that step (i) is carried out during operation of the washing liquor pump with the drum moving at the same time.
