[origin: WO2011042886A2] The present invention relates to an iron soleplate (10) and to a method for the production thereof, in particular for a steam iron (1), the surface (11) of which provided for placement on objects to be iron consists of anodized aluminum and/or is coated with an anodized aluminum layer. In order to improve the ironing and gliding properties, a raised enamel graphics element (20) is applied to the anodized aluminum surface (11), which element can preferably contain color pigments of a silicate dye, in which in particular the silicon components were replaced with aluminum. The present invention surprisingly improves the prior art of iron soleplates (10), wherein at least the surface (11) consists of anodized aluminum.
