Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011042179A1] The invention relates to a sliding door system (10) comprising: at least one sliding door (12) which is designed for arranging in front of an opening (14) to be covered by the sliding door and which has an upper sliding door retainer (18) and a lower sliding door retainer (20); an upper guiding track (22) for movably receiving the upper sliding door retainer (18) and a lower guiding track (24) for movably receiving the lower sliding door retainer (20), said tracks extending parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction and parallel to the opening (14) and both tracks having a clear inner width (x) that is at least twice as large as the thickness of the sliding door (12), wherein both the upper sliding door retainer (18) and the lower sliding door retainer (20) are at most half as wide as the clear inner width (x) of each guiding track (22, 24) so that each sliding door (12) can be moved perpendicularly to the plane of the opening to be covered into a recessed position located closer to the opening and into a raised position at a distance from the opening, and the recessed position and the raised position are both a stable state of the sliding door (12). The sliding door (12) can be moved from one stable state into the respective other stable state after overcoming a fixed resistance force. The sliding door system (10) according to the invention is lightweight and mechanically uncomplicated and thus robustly constructed and enables a free movement of sliding doors (12) without pairing a defined sliding door (12) with a defined opening (14) to be covered in a specified manner.
