Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011042300A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection valve according to the preamble of claim 1. A fuel injection valve of this type is already known and is used, in particular, in what are known as "common rail systems" in diesel internal combustion engines to meter the fuel into the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine. Here, the known fuel injection valve has a pin-shaped injection nozzle element which opens and closes at least one fuel outlet channel in an injector housing. Here, that end of the injection nozzle element which lies opposite the at least one fuel outlet channel is guided in a valve element, the end of which, which faces the at least one fuel outlet channel, is of sleeve-shaped configuration. In the known fuel injection valve, the injection nozzle element merges in the end region of the valve element into a section of reduced diameter. A high-pressure accumulator chamber for fuel is formed in the injector housing by the section of reduced diameter of the injection nozzle element, which high-pressure accumulator chamber is connected to the at least one fuel outlet channel. It is disadvantageous in the known fuel injection valve that it has relatively pronounced pressure fluctuations in the high-pressure chamber, which pressure fluctuations have a disadvantageous effect on the metering accuracy of the fuel and the noise emissions.
