[origin: WO2011045135A1] The present invention relates to a multi-layer sleeve (1) to be applied to substantially cylindrical objects, wherein the sleeve comprises an upper layer (2) and a lower layer (3). The upper layer (2) is located at least partially over the lower layer (3) in the closed state of the sleeve, and the upper and the lower layers are joined to each other on a folding line (4). In order to provide sleeves for cylindrical objects that can be applied in a wrinkle- and tear-free manner using conventional machines for applying single-layer sleeves and that can be produced in a simple and cost-effective manner, according to the invention the folding line (4) is a horizontal perforation line or the upper layer comprises a horizontal perforation line in the region of the folding line, substantially parallel to the folding line.
