[origin: EP2489788A2] The gripping tool (10) has a hydraulic piston cylinder unit that is provided with a piston (16) displaceable within the cylinder, and a bolt-shaped projection element (28) protruded from the cylinder. The coupling rods (24,26) are connected with the piston such that the gripper shell (12) is pivotable by movement of the piston and the projection element is guided through the piston. The piston comprises a large diameter portion in which the projection element is inserted.
