[origin: EP2489949A1] The heater has a load current circuit (10) comprising a bare wire heating device (11). A control device (15) controls switching conditions of switching devices that comprise first and second switching units (14a, 14b) and a third switching unit, where the first and third units are connected to respective galvanic separating units, such that the switching units are directly connected with the control device. The third unit is designed in a self-controlled manner such that the third unit is connected to an electrical conductor (13b) free from direct connection to the separating units.
