[origin: WO2011047757A1] The invention relates to phosphors of formula (I) (Ln1-a-bGdaSmb)w MgxSry(AI1-cBc) zO(3/2w+x+y+3/2z) (I), wherein Ln = Y, La and/or Lu; a, c = 0.0 to 1.0; 0 < b < 0.2 and a + b < 1.0; w = 1.0 to 3.0; x, y = 1.0 to 2.0 and z > 0.0 to 12.0. The invention also relates to a method for producing said phosphors and to the use thereof as conversion phosphors for converting the near-UV emission of an LED.
