Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011047916A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for improving the restart of a vehicle having a start-stop system. In order to accelerate restart, a control unit makes control signals available in a start-stop phase of the start-stop operation, due to which signals the excitation winding is supplied with a pre-excitation current in the stop phase. If there is a restart request occurring during the slow-down of the internal combustion engine, the control unit furthermore checks whether an immediate restart is possible and sensible, initiates an immediate restart if such immediate restart is possible and sensible and delays restart if an immediate restart is not possible or not sensible.
