[origin: WO2011047665A2] In modern motor vehicles, especially flat radiator modules are required. For this purpose, an axial fan is proposed, comprising an electric motor (1), to the rotor (2) of which a fan wheel (4) is attached, wherein the rotor (2) has a section having the shape of a cylindrical pot, onto which section the fan wheel (3) is slid in a closely fitting manner by means of a part of the fan wheel that is completely cylindrical or cylindrical at least in some sections, and the fan wheel (6) lies completely behind the plane defined by the bottom surface of the rotor (2).
