[origin: WO2011048214A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling the operation of an LED luminaire (1), which comprises a plurality of LEDs (5, 6) as luminous elements. The method comprises the following steps: - evaluating, by means of a control unit (3) of the LED luminaire (1), an electrical signal generated by a switch, push-button or dimmer switch (10) that can be operated by a user (11) and is connected to the control unit (3) by means of an interface (23) of the LED luminaire (1) and supplied with power, and - changing the color spectrum of the LED luminaire (1) depending on the evaluated signal.
