Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2492107A1] The machine has a transport system including a transport section, where signatures (100, 200) lying astride of a sewing station (300) are supplied on the section. The section includes an auxiliary saddle (1) retrofitted with a continuously running actuator chain (5). A sewing saddle (2) is provided with a sheet insertion system (7) for the signatures. A photo cell (9) for detecting a local position and a timepoint of the signatures is provided for the sewing saddle. The chain is operated with a speed change based on an immediate sequence of different sheet lengths of the signatures. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a thread sewing machine for processing signatures for book blocks.
