Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011051178A1] The invention relates to a domestic appliance, in particular a dishwasher, comprising at least one device component (23, 24, 25), in particular an electromagnetic valve, which can be supplied with electrical energy via a working line (30), wherein the device component (23, 24, 25) can be actuated via an actuating element (26, 27, 28) that is arranged in series in the working line (30) and remains in at least one defective state in a permanently current-conducting state relative to the working line (30). According to the invention, a monitoring unit (32) is provided which detects the electric current flowing through the device component (23, 24, 25) when the actuating element (26, 27, 28) is in the non-actuated state and compares it to a threshold value in order to detect the defective state of the actuating element (26, 27, 28).
