[origin: WO2011054435A1] The invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for handling cutouts (11) of packaging material for cigarette packs (10), in particular of the soft-pack type, wherein the cutouts (11) are kept ready in a stack in a magazine (22) and wherein the cutouts (11) are removed from the magazine (22) and fed to a packaging machine (21) for cigarette packs (10), in particular a soft cup packer. According to the invention, the cutouts (11) are fed to a coding station (23) for applying a coding (19, 20) to the cutouts (11), and after the coding the cutouts (11) are combined into a cutout flow in which adjacent cutouts (11) overlap and are transferred to the packaging machine (21).
