[origin: WO2011054790A1] A process for producing a lignocellulose-containing substance with a mean density in the range from more than 600 to 900 kg/m3, in which, based in each case on the lignocellulose-containing substance: A) 30 to 95% by weight of lignocellulose paricles; B) 1 to 25% by weight of expanded polymer particles with a bulk density in the range from 10 to 100 kg/m3; C) 3 to 50% by weight of a binder selected from the group consisting of amino resin, phenol-formaldehyde resin and organic isocyanate having at least two isocyanate groups, and optionally D) additives are mixed, and then pressed at elevated temperature and under elevated pressure.
