The tool (5) has a gripping unit applying holding force to a closure (2) and provided with a permanent magnetic actuator that is utilized for applying the holding force. The gripping unit includes a set of gripping members linearly moved relative to each other, where the gripping members are pivoted around an axis in gripping- and release positions. The permanent magnetic actuator includes a linear or radial combination of magnets, where the holding force is applied or released by displacement of the magnets relative to one another.

Es wird ein Verschließwerkzeug (5,105,205,305) für eine Verschließmaschine zum Aufbringen eines Verschlusses (2) auf einen Behälter beschrieben, wobei mit Hilfe einer Greifeinrichtung (7,107,207,307) eine Haltekraft auf den Verschluss aufgebracht wird. Für eine universelle Ausgestaltung des Verschließwerkzeuges wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Greifeinrichtung mit einer Magnetbetätigung (11,111,211,311), insbesondere mit Permanentmagneten, zum Aufbringen der Haltekraft versehen ist.
