[origin: WO2011058280A1] The present patent application relates to a method for diagnosing infertility in a male subject associated with the DPY19L2 protein, as well as to a treatment method aimed at restoring the fertility of such a subject. The present invention also relates to the use of molecules inhibiting the action of the DPY19L2 polypeptide in a wild-type male subject, for example such as anti-DPY19L2 interfering nucleic acids that selectively inhibit the expression of the DPY19L2 polypeptide.
