[origin: EP2500228A1] The rail vehicle (101) has railcar bodies (102,106), which define a vehicle longitudinal direction, a vehicle transverse direction and a vehicle vertical direction. A buffer device (103) is arranged on an end of the railcar body. The return motion devices are provided on the end of the railcar body. The motion device is designed to interact with a complementary return motion device at the impact partner during proceeding longitudinal displacement of the impact element (103.2) to reduce a height offset between the railcar body and the impact partner in the vehicle vertical direction.
