The present invention relates to a pressing system (1) comprising an iron and a pressing board or a pressing dummy, which are heated by steam, wherein the pressing system (1) comprises an authentication device that generates a start-of-pressing signal. The control and monitoring device of the pressing system (1) maintains the latter in a stand-by operation state until reception of the starting signal.
