Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011057695A1] The invention relates to a system for detecting products, comprising a plurality of portable read devices, wherein each customer can be assigned at least one portable read device by means of which identification data relating to products to be purchased by the respective customers in a sales room can be detected irrespective of the location, and wherein the portable read device has a control unit and a memory for buffering the identification data. The system further comprises a receptacle unit that is disposed in the exit area of the sales room and has a plurality of receptacles for the portable read devices, a control device, by means of which the identification data of the portable read device can be read and transferred to a registering device for outputting registration information identifying the product purchase, and a payment unit for handling a payment process on the basis of the registration information, wherein an optical control detecting unit is provided for detecting a number of products which is smaller than the total number of products provided for the purchasing process, and wherein identification data are assigned to each of the products detected in the control detecting device. The system further comprises a verification unit by means of which the identification data of the products detected by the optical control detecting unit are checked for conformity with the identification data of the products detected by the portable read device, so that depending upon the result of the comparison an actuation signal continuing the purchasing process is generated which initiates the payment process, or a correction signal is generated which interrupts the purchasing process.
